They are both fantastic and really damn cheap for what they can do. While in the DAW setting, I'd recommend logic, if you have a mac or fl studio if you don't. This is a DAW, so it's not exactly user friendly, but it's honestly the best price/performance ratio by far in this list.
#HOW TO RECORD DIGITAL PIANO WITH USB TRIAL#
You can use the trial indefinitely, with which you can get acquainted to before buying, as it has midi to vst, midi to score and other functionalities. I use it to automate stuff in a professional studio setting. If it has to be midi, cheapest, and good, would be reaper. If I'm mistaken and you actually do need the MIDI data, we would need more information about what platform you want to do this on (ie: Mac, Windows, tablet (android or ios?), etc.), potentially what operating system, etc. If going AUX out or Headphones out, you'll need a cable to connect to some form of a recording device (regardless of whether you use a computer, digital audio recorder, tape deck, etc.) - if feeding the audio out from your keyboard into a computer, you can use something like Audacity to make a recording. If you want the actual audio from the samples WITHIN your digital piano you'll either need to record from the AUX out, Headphones out or to USB/disk (depending on the age and features of your digital piano).
#HOW TO RECORD DIGITAL PIANO WITH USB SOFTWARE#
If you're going to record yourself playing via midi, your software will need to capture the MIDI data and then you will either need to feed it to another app or the software will need to map your midi data to an instrument to create the audio file (for example, Garageband on a Mac could do this, or another tool that provides virtual instruments that can do it - for example I've used SampleTank on an iPad to "play" different instruments that my digital piano doesn't offer). on your piano not the actual sound of the piano (which is what I think you're after?). Midi will just output digital data representing key presses, pedal presses, etc. If I'm understanding what you want, I don't think MIDI is quite what you think.
